About Us
To all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12NIV
We are the Connecticut Mar Thoma Church under the Diocese of North America of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian church. The basis of our liturgies is used by all Malankara Syrian Christian Churches of Eastern origin. The Mar Thoma Church is Eastern in worship, Episcopal in tradition, democratic in administration and ecumenical in vision. It’s Biblical emphasis, evangelical outlook, missionary zeal, theological concerns and social commitments are some other salient features of the Church.
We started as a small prayer group in early 2000 as an extension of Boston Mar Thoma Church, and now, we regularly celebrate Holy Qurbana service since 2014. Initiated and blessed by bishop Rt Rev Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa on April 27, 2014, we now regularly celebrate Holy Qurbana and conduct Sunday School for our kids. We became a parish in Nov 2016. On Mar 2020, we were able to accomplish our parish’s goal of purchasing our church building at CT. On March 21st, 2021, under the leadership of the Diocesan Bishop, His Grace Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos and Vicar Rev. Biji Mathew held the dedication service of the sanctuary of Jerusalem Mar Thoma Church, Connecticut. Since May 2021, Rev Chris Phil Daniel has been leading our parish and supporting our the Church activities in Connecticut. Please see our Parish History page for more details.
We cater to all Marthomites and associated members in the state of Connecticut. We are a growing parish and we meet every Sunday at our church for our worship service. Please see our Home Page for upcoming events and activities.
