Embracing a New Season
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"
Isaiah 43:19a (NIV)
As September arrives, we find ourselves standing at the threshold of a new season. The rhythm of life begins to change around us. Summer slowly gives way to autumn, children return to school, families settle into new routines, and our church begins another year of Sunday School ministry.
There is something deeply comforting about the changing seasons. They remind us that life is always moving forward, and yet through every change, God remains faithful and unchanging. Whether we are beginning something new, facing a transition, or simply wondering what the months ahead will bring, we can rest in the assurance that God walks with us.
For our children and young people, September is a time of new classrooms, new teachers, new challenges, and new opportunities to learn and grow. Let us surround them with our prayers and encouragement. May they know that they are loved not only by their families and their church, but by a God who knows them, cares for them, and has a purpose for their lives.
We also rejoice as we begin a new Sunday School year. Each Sunday gives us the precious opportunity to plant seeds of faith in the hearts of our children and youth. We are grateful for every teacher and volunteer who has answered God’s call to serve in this important ministry. As a church family, may we remember that our ministry to the next generation belongs to all of us. Let us pray for our teachers, encourage our families, welcome our children, and create a church community where every young person knows that they have a place and that they belong.
The beginning of a new season is also an invitation for each of us to begin again: to renew our prayer life, refresh our commitment to worship, and ask God where He is calling us to serve and grow. The words of the prophet Isaiah offer a beautiful reminder for this season: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19)
May we enter this September with open hearts and renewed hope, trusting that God is already at work among us. May He bless our students and teachers, strengthen our families, guide our Sunday School ministry, and continue to lead our parish into a season of faith, growth, and joyful service.
May God bless you and your families throughout this new season!
With love and prayers,
Rev. Christopher Phil Daniel
